Dr. Rong-Gen Cai graduated from physics department at Hangzhou Normal University in 1985, studied as master degree student in Sichuan University during 1985 through 1987, and ever worked at Qinghai normal university as a lecturer. In 1995 he received his Ph.D degree from Fudan University, China. Thereafter, he did postdoctoral research successively at the Institute of Theoretical Physics (ITP), Chines Academy of Sciences (CAS), the Center for Theoretical Physics at Seoul National University, and Physics Department of Osaka University. He came to ITP/CAS as a faculty in 2001 with the Foreign-Talents Program by Chinese Academy of Sciences. He was awarded the distinguished young investigator grant of the National Natural Science Foundation of China in 2003. In 2011, he was awarded the second class of National Natural Science Price, and the first class of Chongqing Natural Science Price. In 2014, he was awarded the Thomson Reuters Highly Cited Researchers and was selected as the Elsevier’s Most Cited Chinese Researchers in 2014, 2015, and 2016. In 2016 he was selected by the Ten Thousand Talent Program of the Central Government of China. He is now a council member of Chinese Physics Society (CPS), president of the division of gravitation and relativistic astrophysics of CPS, council member of the International Society of General Relativity and Gravitation, vice-chairman of the division of the gravitation, astrophysics and cosmology of AAPPS (the Association of Asia Pacific Physics Societies), president of the association of gravitation, astrophysics and cosmology of the BRIC countries. He works as a co-editor of SCIENCE CHINA (Physics, Mechanics & Astronomy), advisory panel member of Class. Quant. Grav., editorial board member of Comm. Theor. Phys., Mod. Phys. Lett. A, Int. J. Mod. Phys. D, Adv. High. Phys., Chinese Science Bulletin, etc. He published more than 200 papers with more than 11000 citations |
